Poem #32
The Stories I'm From
I am from The Girl Who Owned a City
From the death of all grown-ups, independence must bloom.
Everyone must feel needed and work for their happiness.
I am from The Outsiders
Sad and awkward, it encouraged me to realize
a bond with siblings can never be replaced.
I am from The Chrysalids,
The character, David, who’s protecting Sofie’s secret, thus endangering himself.
I am from Little Women
I write and write, trying to find the right words. I want my sisters Beth and Amy to enjoy my stories.
I’m from Little House on the Prairie
I am willing to help my family survive and thrive.
We live in the middle of the woods.
I’m from How to Train Your Dragon
With my tiny dragon toothless and all the other dragons
When life seems most impossible, we always find a way.
I’m Sunny, Clay, Thorn and Tsunami,
I have a ferocity in me that comes out when people threaten my friends.
From the 18 years of war to overcome
A captive, a warrior, and an insignificant being
the pages of Wings of Fire keeping me up late at night. Under each book on my TBR pile was another book
calling my name
