The Books I'm From

I am from The Outsiders, from Ponyboy constantly feeling like an outsider in his society.

I am from Girl in Pieces. Sadness, hurt, it encouraged me to push through hard times like Charlie did.

I am from The Chrysalids, the character David, whose special ability made him unique.

I am from life living in an empty hotel, from The Shining, Jack Torrance, Danny Torrance.

I'm from Tense and the ones willing to bury a cat in an ancient burial ground from Pet Sematary.

I'm from The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon with a yellow walkman and climb when life seems it's at its lowest.

I'm from Buttercup, Westley, Prince Humperdinck, and the Albino, romance and revenge. 

From heartbreak to overcoming a big cliff, a shark infested water, and a fire swamp. The pages of The Princess Bride keeping me up late at night.

Under each book on my TBR pile was another book calling my name, a calling of adventure to pull me into the pages.
